Beyond Belief Stories of Stupidity
Some of you may not be aware that the Midwest States of the United States have been hit with rain storm after rain storm after rain storm. Flooding has caused many homes, towns, and people to be devastated. My heart goes out to these people affected. Last night on the News I saw this story. I thought I would share the stupidity of some people. To put things in perspective “flood stages” are at all time highs. Example Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In past years the highest stage of the Cedar River was a little above 19 feet. well… this year it was above 32 foot. Needless to say rivers in the area are flooded beyond belief. And along come this story of a family adventure on Fathers Day
http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/19983654.html
Makes the mind “Wobble”
How dumb can you be honestly how dumb
Please read discuss or add any stupid stories you wish on the stupidity of man
(Try to actually link a news stories if you can)
Thanks,
Painbringer

"Emergency crews risked their lives to save those 11 people."
Isn't that their job to rescue people and save lives?

It's dumb that people are trying to prosecute the family. Seriously, its their job to rescue people, no one should have to pay extra for it.
This happened in the Milwaukee River, which, at the time of the incident, was NOT flooded.

June 15th was Father's Day, btw.
Admittedly, taking children was not the best idea, but seriously, when you're being rescued from a tipped canoe, you shouldn't have to worry about your pocketbook afterwards.

Next thing you know, lightning is going to be prosecuted for starting wildfires. Or maybe rain should be prosecuted for flooding everything to begin with.
Anyways, I try not to remember stupid things if I can help it. However, if there is a lessoned to be learned, I try to remember the lesson.

This picture here is full of stupidity. We have 4 people in the picture, 3 of which have different last names. The 2 huddled under the umbrella are Tim Duncan (not the Spurs star) and some chick with a different last name, then their is the daughter, whose last name is the same as the moms. The moms dad then sits underneath a lawn chair and also has a different last name. WTF?!?! But THAT is not the stupid part.
The stupid part is during the storm in which they are seeking shelter from there was a TON of lightning. So lets see what is wrong here. The grandpa is sitting there holding a METAL lawn chair over his head. DOPE! The 2 parents are under an umbrella that is also metal. DOPE! AND they are sitting under a tree! DOPE! The stupidity doesn't stop there, the camera man is taking this picture with a METAL camera standing UNDER the tree during the lightning. Smart people are ftw.

It's their job to rescue people who unexpectedly end up in a perilous situation. It's not their job to rescue people who stupidly put themselves in harm's way.

ah japan is FULL of stupid people.
during a typhoon its not usually a good idea to surf---2 kids died trying.
and its not a good idea to try and fix the roof---especially when you are elderly (a 60+ year old man fell off his roof during a typhoon.../doh)
and recently that 'big' earthquake north of Sendai? well there were at first only 2 people who were reported dead---one was an old guy who ran out of his house (yeah thats good), but not looking RAN INTO TRAFFIC and got run over by a car /doh x10.
yep full of good stories there.....

How did they "stupidly put themselves in harms way"? The river was basically completely normal, maybe 3 inches above the norm. It's like driving down a highway where there was a car accident 3 hours ago.
